Hello Hetal & Anuja
First of all thank you for these wonderful recipes!! Issue isn't that I do not have recipes for these.... but getting it right traditional way with North American equipments is difficult.... my sister's mother-in-law thinks I am great because I can make perfect "Suralichi Wadi" or Khandvi.... well, thanks to you for showing its microwave version... Most I like about your recipes is simplicity.
You guys are doing great job. Also with openi
I purchased a cookbook at a local Indian store I frequent by a woman whom I am told is very popular as a cooking authority in India, Tarla Dalal. One recipe calls three cardamons. The recipe is a tendli bhaat, a Maharashtian recipe. Would this be black or green cardamon? Shame on me...I could swear that I saw a SMTC video that discussed this (cardamon was an ingredient) but my memory has evaporated.
Where am I? Who are all you people anyway?
Is there a

Countertops: Dip the cut side of a lemon half in baking soda to tackle countertops; wipe with a wet sponge and dry. Don't use on delicate stone, like marble, or stainless steel (it may discolor).
Cutting boards: To remove tough food stains from light wood and plastic cutting boards, slice a lemon in half, squeeze onto the soiled surface, rub, and let sit for 20 minutes before rinsing.

I just rediscovered SMTC after a while. I had it in my iTunes podcast feed and I loved watching the videos and learning the recipes. However, the podcast stopped updating and I only just got around to looking into it. I had assumed (but hoped not) that for some reason you had stopped making videos, but now I see you just stopped updating the podcast feed. Was there and specific reason for this? I really enjoyed the convenience of the podcast feed.

Hi Matt,
Sorry, for the delayed response...we were all in a holiday mode
!
Here are a few of them that have come highly recommended by some
friends (unfortunately, Hetal and I don't really like cookbooks, hence
this website).
Can anyone tell me if it's OK to freeze the Gulab Jamun balls, assuming I've fried them, cooled them and stored them in an airtight container?
Also, what about the sugar syrup? Can it be frozen, separately of course from the balls.
Thank you,
Georgeann
I am an American cook getting ready to enter culinary school. I have always had a special place in my heart for south asian food but it is hard to come by in the south (Texas). With the holidays coming up I am looking to fill my amazon wishlist and I would like an Indian cookbook that is more geared towards the American palat. I also have a few tiffins coming my way from India and wouldn
